I have always loved picking up a pencil to capture something in the moment. I've been drawing for for as long as I can remember since I was a child.
My fascination with the natural world was nurtured and encouraged through my early years living in the country (both Warburton and Gippsland Lakes) and currently where I now live in Central Victoria. I'm inspired by the flora and fauna, and feel stimulated and fed being surrounded by nature.
I love the energy of line to illustrate the definition and mood of a piece and sometimes combine pigmented inks, oil or acrylic. I feel great satisfaction and joy by drawing a moment in time in the natural world, giving animals and plants respectful attention.
I mainly exhibit my work through the Gallery I established in 2008 called 'Lauriston Press', based in Kyneton, and sell my work both in galleries throughout Victoria and Interstate. Details are under 'events' on the website.
In this website I have chosen some examples of work that I've created over the years. I have developed a love of birdlife and flora, and landscape intermixing it to capture and freeze a moment in time.
I hope you enjoy the artwork.
